About the role
- Lead Technical Transformation: Identify and drive technical initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability across our engineering organization
- Mentor and Coach: Act as a technical mentor and coach for engineering leaders and senior individual contributors
- Define and Evangelize Best Practices: Establish and promote engineering best practices, standards, and processes
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership and product management to align technical strategy with business goals
- Work fully remote within a diverse, global team of open-source database experts
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in engineering leadership
- Strong background in architecture and technical strategy
- Deep, hands-on technical knowledge of software development
- Strong understanding of open-source technologies, databases, and cloud-native architectures
- Proven track record of driving significant technical and process improvements across multiple teams or business units
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Collaborative, remote-first mindset
