About the role
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements for trading products, market access, risk controls, and reporting systems.
- Translate high-level trading strategies and business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Eliminate ambiguities between teams by maintaining a clear and structured requirements backlog.
- Map and document end-to-end trading workflows (order capture, routing, execution reporting, settlement).
- Analyze system dependencies, data models, and integration points across front-office, risk, and back-office systems.
- Support solution design discussions, ensuring alignment of functional requirements and technical implementation.
- Define acceptance criteria and create test plans for new features and system enhancements.
- Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and regression testing for critical releases.
- Validate data integrity across trading components (order books, positions, reconciliations).
- Collaborate with DevOps, DBAs, and developers to troubleshoot production incidents related to trading workflows.
- Provide root-cause analysis documentation and support incident post-mortems.
- Ensure operational readiness and smooth onboarding of new system changes to production.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business users (trading desks, compliance, risk) and technology teams.
- Present solution proposals and status updates to stakeholders in business-friendly language.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of trading platforms, order management systems (OMS), and market structure.
- Experience with financial instruments (equities, derivatives, FX, fixed income) and trading lifecycle events.
- Proficiency in analyzing business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
- Hands-on experience writing queries (SQL) and analyzing complex datasets.
- Exposure to Agile delivery practices and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
