About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Become the go-to expert on CFO/SME needs at Pennylane
- Ensure our product addresses the real business challenges of this customer segment
- Influence product decisions across all relevant tracks
- Conduct CFO interviews to deepen understanding of business needs
- Map actual financial workflows of SMEs
- Analyze field feedback with an expert perspective
- Participate in user tests to identify business friction points
- Join product committees to represent CFOs' voice
- Help PMs prioritize based on real impact for Large SMEs
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting CFOs
- Analyze real usage of competing solutions (Sage, Cegid, SAP)
- Anticipate emerging trends in the finance function for SMEs
- Train Product and Sales teams on CFO processes
- Provide Marketing with concrete field use cases
- Take part in demos for strategic clients
- Influence medium- to long-term business vision on the Large SME roadmap
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience in financial management software/ERP/accounting software
- Deep knowledge of CFO processes (accounting, reporting, consolidation, treasury, taxation) and the challenges faced by SMEs with 15–500 employees
- Proficiency with market tools (Sage, Cegid, SAP Business One, or equivalents)
- Product Management experience: ability to translate business needs into product specifications
- Ability to influence without hierarchical authority: you build credibility through expertise
- Experience in matrixed/cross-functional environments: working with multiple teams
- Teaching skills: simplify complex business concepts
- Pragmatism: distinguish the essential from the secondary and prioritize naturally
- Curiosity: seek the "why" behind every customer request
- Collaboration: work cross-functionally with PM/PMM/Sales/Marketing
- Proactivity: anticipate needs rather than just react
