About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prospectively review all OASIS assessments for appropriateness, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations and Seaport Scripps Home Health
- Utilize OASIS variation or alert reports when reviewing OASIS data
- Ensure appropriate ICD-10 coding and sequencing for patients’ medical conditions and co-morbidities
- Consult clinical staff to clarify data integrity issues and support appropriate corrections
- Review visit utilization for appropriateness of care guidelines and patient condition
- Report potential financial losses and underutilization to the Clinical Supervisor or designee
- Notify leadership of problematic trends identified through OASIS review
- Work with managers to address trends affecting agency outcome and process measures
- Conduct OASIS inter-rater reliability visits with clinical staff
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance activities
- Assist with chart audit activities
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and professional publications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active CA Registered Nurse License
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of clinical home health experience required
- Working knowledge of OASIS and ICD-10 coding
- OASIS certification (COS-C) preferred
- OASIS Home Health ICD-10 coding certification preferred
- Knowledge of federal regulations and state licensure requirements
