About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Owns income tax compliance, tax provision (ASC 740), and indirect taxes including sales/use, gross receipts, and property tax
- Prepares quarterly and annual US tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP/ASC 740
- Serves as a cross-functional partner to operations, accounting, finance, internal audit, legal, and treasury teams
- Leads, mentors, and develops tax team members; providing coaching, prioritization, and feedback
- Drives process improvements through technology and automation
- Prepares income tax returns including: Consolidated 1120, 1065s, multistate reporting, and tax credit calculations
- Manages external tax service providers; ensure quality, timelines, and completeness
- Reviews and timely file monthly, quarterly, and annual gross receipts, sales and use, and personal property tax returns
- Leads initiatives to modernize and scale the tax function through automation and technology
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax required; CPA preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in Tax Public Accounting or Fortune 500 experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise as a senior tax analyst, including but not limited to: Strong expertise in income tax, ASC 740, and multi-state taxation
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel, data analytics, and tax technology tools
- Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity
- Proven project management and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams
- Operates independently with accountability for outcomes, not just deliverables
- Anticipates issues and drives solutions proactively
- Seeks input to understand problems before prescribing solutions
- Balances technical excellence with business practicality
