About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coach and teach sport-specific skills and strategies to current student-athletes at practice and competition
  • Prepare and execute practice and competition plans
  • Educate team members on proper training techniques, exercise, and sport-specific needs
  • Provide instruction and advice before, during, and after competition
  • Assist with program budgeting, especially travel logistics and planning
  • Oversee and manage the team fueling station
  • Contribute to day-to-day program operations
  • Work with compliance, student development, external operations, facilities, equipment operations, internal operations, and athletic development staff
  • Comply with NCAA, Ivy League, university, and divisional rules and policies
  • Organize team and coach travel, compliance paperwork, and administrative tasks
  • Participate in recruiting and retention, including evaluation, relationship building, and communication
  • Plan and execute official and unofficial visits
  • Maintain and manage the recruiting database
  • Serve as a role model and advisor for student-athletes
  • Connect student-athletes with necessary resources
  • Provide support to all student-athletes on the team
  • Assist the head coach with relationships involving alumni, fans, campus partners, and the broader community
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1–2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1–2 years of related experience in administration, education, leadership, and/or coaching
  • Previous college athletics experience as a player, coach, and/or administrator preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and technology awareness
  • Knowledge of social media
  • Career interest in coaching or athletic administration preferred
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver’s license
