About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive project plan including objectives, protocols, project timeline, and deliverables.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to 12-person research team.
  • Foster collaboration among project team members, faculty, and stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to achieving grant goals.
  • Prepare annual reports and respond to other requests from ED program officer.
  • Work closely with Penn GSE teams to guarantee compliance with grant guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop project budget for five-year grant.
  • Monitor and revise budget, manage contracts, and track expenditures in accordance with grant objectives and regulations.
  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative research activities, including data collection and analysis.
  • Coordinate data agreements and contracts with Office of Research Services; Support Co-PI with IRB submissions, protocols, and compliance.
  • Establish and optimize operational processes to support the successful execution of the grant, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regularly assess project operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance workflow.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project fulfillment, from resource allocation to timeline management and quality assurance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience combined.
  • Strong project management, planning, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with grant management.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Preferred: A Master’s degree in education.
  • Experience with research studies, including randomized control trials (RCTs) highly desirable.
  • Experience with Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance highly desirable.
  • Experience with federal grants.
