About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical and research support to update UPENN ration balancing
Expand and update a dairy decision tool suite incorporating on-farm production data
Develop and launch a benchmarking tool for PA dairy farmers
Investigate and apply new non-linear programming technique to existing tools
Re-launch and modernize dairy decision dashboard program
Development of crop optimization tool and economic opportunity program
Develop robotic feeding optimizer program
Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced training in non-linear optimization programming
Extensive experience in mathematical modeling
A working knowledge of the dairy industry is preferred
