About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages and executes payroll processes for weekly and monthly paid populations
- Ensures compliance with hiring practices within the GSE
- Supports program and departmental stakeholders
- Suggests process improvements
- Oversees end-to-end payroll processing for employee populations
- Reviews and approves payroll transactions including new hires and terminations
- Performs as a key system administrator within Workday
- Guides new hires and supervisors through the onboarding process
- Maintains compliance across all payroll operations
- Supports internal and external audits by maintaining thorough documentation
- Serves as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries
- Provides support for international employment needs including visa applications
- Oversees the onboarding process for Visiting Scholars
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of payroll or financial operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong attention to detail and compliance knowledge
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Three to five years of payroll or financial operations experience (preferred)
- Experience with Workday (preferred)
- Experience in higher education payroll (preferred)
- Knowledge of grant-funded payroll processes (preferred)
