About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the administration of all departmental budgets
  • Screen and approve expenditures; review and verify transactions
  • Provide monthly financial reports to account owners
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Oversee grant management activities
  • Ensure compliance with institutional financial policies and internal controls
  • Supervise departmental financial staff; provide guidance, training, and mentorship
  • Monitor and manage all departmental personnel and payroll activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science
  • 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (Business Manager B)
  • 5 to 7 years of experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting financial operations, budgeting, and personnel or payroll processes
  • 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination for Business Manager C
  • Advanced experience in financial management, budget planning and forecasting, personnel administration, and staff supervision
  • A cover letter is required including a description of sponsored programs & supervisory experience
  • Experience with Penn financial systems (BEN Financials, Workday, Hyperion Planning, Business Objects, PennERA) is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
