About the role
- Support research activities of Penn Dental Medicine
- Manage comprehensive grant portfolio, including pre-award and post-award activities
- Oversee proposal and budget development and compliance
- Collaborate with principal investigators for strategic planning
- Prepare financial analyses for faculty
- Monthly reconciliation of grant expenditures and compliance
- Manage post-award processes including account generation
- Oversee payroll on grants and work with fiscal operations team
- Authorize Purchasing and Accounts payable transactions
- Participate in annual budget process and projections
- Indirectly supervise PI support staff
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with university-sponsored research policies and related research management systems preferred
- Experience with NIH and other federal granting agencies required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, BEN Financials, and Business Objects preferred
- Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance required
- Strong organizational, data management, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven, multiple-priority work environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and critical thinking skills
