About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and evaluate student externship skill submissions using established grading criteria.
  • Provide clear, supportive, and constructive written feedback that promotes student growth and learning.
  • Apply professional judgment when evaluating skill submissions while maintaining consistency and fairness.
  • Identify safety concerns, OSHA violations, and academic integrity issues when appropriate.
  • Communicate with students and the Veterinary Academy externship team in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate grading and evaluation records.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, and accreditation activities as needed.
  • Review a minimum of 75 student skills every seven days while maintaining established turnaround times.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Current Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, or equivalent) in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary clinical experience.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive, encouraging, and student-focused feedback.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
