About the role
- Investigating and managing all workers’ compensation claims
- Ensuring compliance with Maryland Workers Compensations Laws and Regulations
- Maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality
- Supporting labor relations by working closely with union representatives
- Analyzing trends in worker injuries, incidents, and claims
- Compliance to 49 CFR 655 and 40
- Oversight of CDL medical qualifications and DOT driver compliance
- Managing return-to-duty and follow-up testing
- Collaborating with the Office of Safety to identify workplace risk trends through data analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP, CHRC, CHSP, ASP, or similar).
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing workforce compliance programs, preferably in a transit, transportation, or unionized environment.
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and familiarity with return-to-work programs.
- Working knowledge of DOT, FTA, and FMCSA regulations.
