About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build the Pella brand within the trade industry as a premier choice for window and door solutions
- Achieve individual sales and customer satisfaction goals through relational selling across Pella product offerings
- Provide solutions, market expertise, and partnership to builders, contractors, architects, professional remodelers, and trade organizations
- Originate new customer relationships through networking, referrals, face-to-face meetings, events, and trade associations
- Spend over 50% of time at customer sites generating account growth and prospecting for new business
- Acquire new customers while building loyalty with existing relationships
- Respond to client concerns and independently resolve issues where possible
- Maintain product expertise and monitor the competitive landscape
- Recommend products and total solutions using a consultative sales approach and consistent follow-up
- Prepare accurate quotes and orders according to company sales procedures
- Educate customers on installation guidelines and measure openings for accurate product ordering
- Coordinate with Pella teams and Operations on product requirements, after-sale service, and installations
- Act as the central point of contact for customers
- Address customer billing and payment issues with Accounts Receivable
- Use CRM tools to manage customer interactions and proactively communicate
- Work occasional variable, evening, and weekend hours to support customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Outside sales experience preferred for the ideal candidate
- Some window and door or related industry knowledge preferred for the ideal candidate
- Must live in Northern New Jersey or Rockland County, New York
- Motor vehicle record must comply with company requirements
- Ability to manage multiple tasks amid constant interruptions and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to read and analyze contracts and work documents
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions
- Clean and neat physical appearance and adherence to company dress code
- Ability to solve practical and arithmetic problems with limited standardization
- Ability to drive regularly to showrooms, job sites, customer/contractor locations, and company functions
- Expected travel of 50%-75%, primarily local
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to read, interpret, and take off blueprints accurately
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices, with ability to learn internal software programs and applications
- Ability to negotiate, build value, address objections, and close sales
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer service capabilities
