About the role
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases across the enterprise.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of SQL environments.
- Responsibilities include installation and configuration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and support for development and infrastructure teams.
- Provide Tier 3 support for database-related incidents.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and schema design.
- Stay current with SQL Server features and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and newer).
- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Knowledge of native backup and recovery tools
- Familiarity with Always On Availability Groups and replication.
- Strong understanding of T-SQL and scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SentryOne, SolarWinds, SQL Monitor).
