About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the day-to-day administration of treaty and facultative reinsurance programs
- Oversee ceded premium and loss reporting, recoverables, settlements, and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to reinsurers, brokers, auditors, and regulatory agencies
- Monitor reinsurance recoverables and facilitate timely collections with Claims and Finance
- Coordinate reinsurance renewals by preparing data, financial analyses, and supporting documentation
- Review reinsurance contracts and align operational processes with contract provisions
- Partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Claims, brokers, and reinsurers
- Maintain reinsurance records and documentation in compliance with controls, accounting standards, and regulations
- Support internal and external audits with documentation, reconciliations, and analysis
- Prepare management reports and analyses on ceded results, recoverables, treaty activity, and operational performance
- Improve reinsurance processes, controls, reporting, and system efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics, or related field
- Typically requires 7+ years of progressive reinsurance or insurance experience
- CPCU, ARe, or FCAS/ASAS designations preferred
- Ability to influence executive-level decision-making
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- Logical reasoning and organization skills
- Leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Negotiation skills with reinsurers and brokers
- Time management and ability to work independently
- Customer service skills
- Knowledge of capital modeling and enterprise risk management
