About the role
- Completing all accounting related transactions timely and accurately in adherence to the close schedule
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual processing of operational accounting work
- Promoting continuous process improvement within the accounting area
- Reconciling bank statements and accounts monthly
- Preparing journal entries and reconciling various accounts
- Communicating effectively with internal and external customers
- Assisting with annual unclaimed property reporting
- Assisting with monthly processing of statistical data needed for financials
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Typically requires 1-3 years accounting experience
- Professional accounting or insurance designations preferred
- Basic ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Basic skill in situational analysis and judgment in making critical decisions
- Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Good to have skills: Excel, Office Connect, Workday
