About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Home Energy Audits in accordance with New Construction RESNET/Energy Star Guidelines
- Conduct visual inspections of applied materials and control assemblies
- Collect data and observe energy-efficient features, including equipment model and serial numbers
- Inspect ductwork, insulation, framing, air sealing, ventilation, and installation quality
- Use equipment for infiltration and Blower Door Testing, ventilation testing, duct leakage testing, and building airflow and pressure testing
- Adjust system settings to meet design or manufacturer specifications
- Develop relationships with builders and code officials through professional communication
- Prepare electronic written reports of audit findings
- Complete paperwork required for internal reporting
- Maintain equipment according to company policy and manufacturer specifications
- Complete assigned third-party inspections within the designated geographical area
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or General Education Degree or Vocational Certificate in the Skilled Trades Industry is required
- HERS Rater, Energy Star, Green Building, ACCA 310 HVAC Grading, IECC, HVAC EPA, BPI, and LEED certifications are a plus
- 2 years of work experience in HVAC, home remodeling, or construction is helpful
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, carry equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and use small tools and testing equipment
- Enjoy working outdoors
- Personable, enthusiastic, well-groomed, articulate, and able to convey technical information in plain language
- Adaptable to fluctuating audit and inspection schedules
- Organized, dependable, self-directed, and able to complete projects with limited supervision
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications/licenses as required
- Valid driver’s license in good standing with insurable driving record
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel daily to job sites
- Willingness to undergo a background check and/or drug testing in accordance with local law/regulations
- Must become a certified HERS Rater
