About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Process invoices, payments, and payroll (if applicable)
Prepare and manage GST returns in accordance with New Zealand regulations
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
Generate financial reports as required
Liaise with accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders
Ensure compliance with New Zealand financial and tax requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software
Solid understanding of New Zealand accounting standards and GST
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with New Zealand-based clients or companies
Relevant accounting or bookkeeping certification
Experience handling multiple entities or accounts
