About the role
- Edit and retouch high-volume event photos while maintaining consistency in style and quality
- Perform color correction, exposure balancing, white balance adjustment, and tone matching
- Retouch portraits (skin smoothing, blemish removal, teeth/eye enhancement) while keeping a natural look
- Cull and select best images from event shoots based on storytelling, emotion, and composition
- Apply preset styles and make manual adjustments where needed
- Ensure all deliverables meet agreed turnaround times, especially for time-sensitive events
- Organize and manage photo files efficiently using proper naming conventions and folders
- Follow brand and client-specific editing guidelines
- Communicate clearly with photographers or project coordinators regarding revisions and feedback
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional photo editing experience, with a strong focus on events
- Proven experience editing weddings, engagements, birthdays, and lifestyle events
- Experience handling large volumes of photos (300–1,000+ images per event)
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Lightroom (Classic)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for detailed retouching
- Strong understanding of:
- - Color theory and color grading
- - Exposure correction and lighting consistency
- - Skin tone accuracy across different lighting conditions
- Ability to match an existing editing style or preset accurately
- Portfolio required showcasing before-and-after samples of:
- - Wedding or engagement events
- - Indoor and outdoor event lighting
- - Day and evening shoots
- Nice-to-Have (Preferred but Not Required)
- - Experience editing for Australian or New Zealand clients
- - Familiarity with popular wedding/event photography styles (light & airy, dark & moody, documentary)
- - Knowledge of Capture One
- - Basic understanding of photography composition and camera settings
- - Experience working with remote creative teams
- - Video editing or basic Lightroom video color grading experience
- High attention to detail and consistency
- Strong aesthetic judgment and storytelling mindset
- Ability to receive and apply feedback constructively
