About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and manage the Data Lake engineering team, driving technical initiatives from conception to production while ensuring alignment with business objectives, platform scalability requirements, and delivery timelines
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including product managers, data scientists, and business leaders to define scope, objectives, and technical deliverables throughout the data platform lifecycle
Build and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering a teaching and learning culture
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and PI Planning
Own the technical strategy and architecture for our data lake infrastructure
Identify and proactively mitigate technical and operational risks
Coordinate resource allocation and work prioritization across multiple initiatives
Establish and enforce data engineering best practices, governance standards, and security protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or related field; Master's degree in business administration or computer science is a plus
6+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with 2+ years as a people manager, preferably in Financial Services (FinTech) or high-growth technology environments
Proven expertise in Agile Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (Jira, Confluence) with track record of delivering complex technical projects on time
Deep technical proficiency in cloud-based systems (GCP preferred), including BigQuery, Snowflake, Cloud Storage
Strong understanding of fault-tolerant system design, high-availability services, and real-time data ingestion patterns
Solid grasp of DevOps principles with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code
Understanding of security best practices for data systems, API design, and infrastructure within regulated environments.
