About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure multidiscipline construction technologies, including models, tools, and practices, are current and standards are followed
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop construction-site logistics models
  • Coordinate and manage trade detailing and design deliverables
  • Liaise between design teams and construction teams
  • Review and recommend scopes where VDC tools and processes can be incorporated during the pursuit stage
  • Participate in scoping design deliverables and trade detailing requirements
  • Collaborate with design and trade partners to support project documentation
  • Review VDC/technology contract language and the BIM execution plan with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology
  • Establish and set up trade partner model coordination processes, including shop and fabrication model review, and hand them over to project teams
  • Aggregate and maintain current multidiscipline construction models while ensuring modeling standards are followed
  • Create and coordinate RFIs with the project team
  • Identify opportunities and leverage integrated construction technology on projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a buildings industry-related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural)
  • 5 to 7 years of construction-related experience, including 2 to 3 years of Virtual Design and Construction-related experience
  • Strong understanding of construction sequences
  • Awareness of and some involvement in implementing construction technology
  • Ability to provide project model management
  • Knowledge of the building construction process and various building components involved at each stage of construction
  • Ability to ensure the quality of virtual design and construction models from design and trade partners
  • Understanding of trade detailing and design workflows
  • Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and translate them into a complete 3D/4D Building Information Model
  • Intermediate knowledge of 3D modeling software and ability to create content in VDC software
  • Ability to provide input into a Building Information Model (BIM) execution plan
  • Ability to read and understand the construction model and scope to create and apply a VDC schedule
  • Ability to create and communicate markups to construction drawings
