About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Designing future-proof data landscapes: You are responsible for the conception and architecture of modern, highly scalable data warehouse and lakehouse solutions — leveraging a deep technological foundation to create the best solution across all hyperscalers in an agnostic manner.
  • Creating efficient data flows: You develop robust ETL/ELT processes and intelligent data pipelines that seamlessly connect diverse data sources.
  • Structuring valuable data models: Together with the team you build data models and transformations using modern tools such as dbt or Dataform, establishing the foundation for informed decision-making.
  • Interface management & consulting: In close coordination with stakeholders you analyze requirements and deliver performant data structures that enable tailored BI and analytics use cases.
  • Technology leadership: You evaluate and select suitable data technologies for our clients with foresight, following a consistent best-of-breed approach.
  • Knowledge flow & team development: You mentor junior and mid-level engineers in their professional development and actively shape data governance and best practices within our team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid professional experience: You have several years of experience in data engineering and are ideally comfortable working in modern cloud environments.
  • Confidence in data architectures: You are proficient in SQL and bring deep understanding of DWH and DLH (Data Lakehouse) architectures, including formats such as Iceberg, Delta, and Hudi.
  • Hands-on platform expertise: You have actively worked with modern data platforms such as Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric/Synapse.
  • Routine in data modeling: Transforming and modeling data (e.g., with dbt or Dataform) is part of your regular toolkit.
  • Visualization skills: You have practical experience using common BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau to make data visible.
  • Strong consulting and communication: You enjoy advising customers technically, presenting complex architectures clearly, and understanding use cases end-to-end.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud ecosystems: You have strong experience with at least one major hyperscaler (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure).
  • Scripting skills: Ideally, you have practical experience with Python to automate tasks or optimize processes.
  • Domain-specific certifications: You hold data-related certifications (e.g., Snowflake, GCP, or Azure Data Engineer) or are interested in obtaining them with us.
  • Modern deployment: Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD in the data space is a valuable plus.
  • Team player with drive: You demonstrate result orientation and enjoy collaborating with our diverse team of passionate experts.
