About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify growth opportunities within your merchants (subsidiaries, new brands, migration of volumes from competitors) and build a strong, trust-based relationship to become their primary payment partner.
  • Use commercial acumen to design compelling financial proposals and business cases tailored to your clients' complex architectures.
  • Lead high-level strategic meetings (C‑level) where you demonstrate Payplug's direct impact on their P&L (conversion gains, reduction in fraud), turning each review into a business growth opportunity.
  • Become your merchants' indispensable trusted advisor by providing market insights and cutting-edge payments expertise.
  • Accurately analyze account KPIs (acceptance rate, fraud, etc.) to anticipate risks and optimize current payment flows.
  • Map and escalate your merchants' complex needs internally, rigorously assessing their business relevance and ROI for Payplug.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in Account Management (AM) or Strategic CSM, ideally within the FinTech/payments ecosystem (PSP, orchestrator, PayFac…).
  • You have strong business sense and refined negotiation skills.
  • You can spot growth opportunities where others see routine operations, and you have a genuine appetite for building offers and pricing mechanisms.
  • Able to dive into payment data to extract compelling, indisputable commercial arguments.
  • Your organization enables you to manage long-running accounts and complex ramp-up cycles methodically.
  • You combine excellent active listening with strong persuasion skills to influence strategic decisions of finance or e‑commerce directors at major accounts.
  • Winning share of flows takes time and strategy. Your tenacity and resilience are among your key strengths.
