About the role
- Inputs to product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision for the product or enabling platform
- Implements the architectural roadmap that balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability
- Controls for the customer experience and customer needs in product requirements and as an input to decision making
- Monitors metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis
- Manages one or more workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making
- Monitors product profitability measures, including budget
- Participates in operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews
- Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed
- Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Translate innovation into financial precision
- Convert new product designs, transaction models, and system flows into clear finance-ready artifacts, including transaction ledgers, funds flow diagrams, accounting mappings, and settlement constructs
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Finance stakeholders such as Controllership and Treasury to align on how each new BCDC product interacts with core PayPal systems from liquidity movements to revenue recognition
- Design with financial integrity in mind
- Anticipate and embed accounting and treasury considerations early in the design lifecycle, ensuring compliant handling of digital assets, stablecoins, and other financial instruments
- Enable smooth handoffs to Finance
- Ensure Finance teams receive complete, stable, and validated inputs before formal engagement
- Support readiness for accounting policy reviews, system mapping, and audit preparedness
- Model and communicate financial mechanics
- Build and maintain transaction and settlement models that clarify inflows, outflows, and balance sheet impacts across product lines
- Act as a financial subject matter expert for BCDC
- Advise BCDC leadership and product squads on liquidity management, FX exposure, and the financial implications of product architecture decisions
- Streamline financial design governance
- Define and institutionalize repeatable frameworks that guide how BCDC products move through Finance checkpoints — reducing rework, delays, and ambiguity
