About the role

  • Create, lead and scale end-to-end communications strategy and plan to target, reach and engage developers globally
  • Create, lead and scale developer and merchant advisory boards including beta programs
  • Create, lead and scale social media and communication campaigns to align with developer strategies
  • Provide engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts
  • Respond to comments from developers, customers, merchants, partners or ISVs in a timely manner
  • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews to PM and Engineering teams to ensure roadmap inclusion and resolution
  • Organize and participate in developer and merchant events to build community and boost brand awareness
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, PR /Comms and Legal teams to ensure alignment and best outcomes
  • Liaise with Product teams, Development and Sales departments to stay updated on new products and features and bring feedback from developers to PayPal stakeholders
  • Build relationships with developers, potential developers, merchants, industry professionals and journalists
  • Stay up-to-date with AI and other developer technology trends

Requirements

  • + 10 years managing Community programs and working with remote and geographically distributed teams.
  • 10+ years managing a team of developers and delivering against a roadmap
  • 5+ years architecture and design experience for web commerce
  • 5+ years in a developer relations or product team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leading open-source technologies, especially those used in the FinTech industry or e-commerce
  • Demonstrated success building, leading and scaling cross functional and global teams
  • Excellent project management and communications skills.
  • Technical proficiency in one or more frontend and web technologies, especially ecommerce technologies, APIs and SDKs
  • Passionate about your work, going far beyond the last mile to bring joy to our developers.
  • Leverage data and testing to optimize and maximize all communications where possible.
  • Partner with corporate cross-functional teams to drive programs that will help us meet our awareness goals.
  • Collaborate with the broader Corporate Marketing team and marketing agencies to drive successful brand awareness campaigns.
