About the role
- Lead PayPal's Test Environments team within Developer Platform Engineering
- Drive the strategy, development, and operation of scalable test infrastructure that empowers thousands of developers
- Manage multiple projects through direct reports and may directly manage individual software development projects
- Ensure project delivery through supervision of costs, methods, and staffing
- Set operational targets and drive operational rigor around engineering KPIs such as unit test coverage, uptime/resiliency targets, execution velocity
- Responsible for the delivery of projects and continuous improvement that impact up to three domains
- Lead the effort in resolving highly complex or unique technical situations that impact business success or address future concepts, products, or technologies
- Create the roadmap for multiple scrum teams and turn high-level operational strategy into a well-defined resourcing plan
- Collaborate with direct team, managers in org, stakeholders, managers in other orgs and business stakeholders
- Demonstrate perseverance in pursuing difficult, complex, or ambiguous goals, applying advanced analytical thought and judgment
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Previous management experience
- Advanced Technical Skills (preferred)
- Experience with AI/ML integration in developer tools and test automation (preferred)
- Knowledge of advanced testing methodologies (chaos engineering, shift-left testing) (preferred)
- Background in enterprise-scale platforms serving thousands of developers (preferred)
- Experience with multi-tenant architectures and developer self-service platforms (preferred)
- Fintech or payments industry experience with understanding of compliance and security requirements (preferred)
- Experience at high-growth technology companies with rapid scaling challenges (preferred)
- Background in platform engineering or developer experience roles (preferred)
- Experience leading organizational change management and platform migrations (preferred)
- Track record of building high-performing, diverse teams with strong retention rates (preferred)
- Experience with incident management and leading teams through critical production issues (preferred)
