About the role

  • Build products for fraud/risk detection and mitigation for PayPal merchants.
  • Design, develop, and ship platforms and services for transaction and payments risk.
  • Deliver complete solutions across SDLC: design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations.
  • Guide junior engineers and advise management on project-level issues.
  • Build new APIs and microservices that serve millions of users and take operational responsibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups: business, product, analytics, engineering.
  • Identify product/functionality gaps and define necessary development.
  • Own implementation of a module/application/product and deliver code in agile team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and at least one modern frontend framework (React)
  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills – ability to triage and resolve critical tech issues without supervision.
  • Proven experience in employing engineering/analytics solutions on real world problems.
  • Ability to work independently and proficiently on well-defined projects.
  • Skilled in Presenting – can effectively communicate in large or small group settings.
  • Business acumen, hands-on technology skills, positive work ethic and a collaborative mindset.
