About the role
- Manage the payroll vendor and oversee end-to-end payroll lifecycle including salary computation, validation, disbursement, and reconciliation
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and other earnings in accordance with company policies
- Coordinate with HR for employee lifecycle updates (new hires, exits, leaves, promotions) and incorporate changes into payroll
- Administer payroll for full-time, part-time, and contractor employees
- Ensure outsourced vendor manages GST, TDS, and income tax filings
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, TDS, Gratuity, Professional Tax)
- Ensure outsourced vendor files statutory returns accurately and within prescribed timelines
- Regularly update payroll practices in line with changes in legislation and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Good to have
- At least 10-13 years of experience with hands on India payroll experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations in small to mid size organizations or multinational corporations
- Experience with overseeing/managing India payroll operations
