About the role
- Lead product strategy and execution across acquiring, issuing, merchant onboarding/KYC/AML, settlements, fraud/risk, and platform services
- Drive complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through launch with focus on outcomes
- Scale and mentor a high-performing product team, setting a culture of ownership, accountability, and customer-centricity
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, risk, and business teams to build resilient, high-performance payments systems (processing, directory services, messaging, fraud prevention)
- Represent product externally with banks, processors, vendors, and internally with the board and executive team
- Prioritize reliability and scalability while laying the groundwork for innovation
- Roll up sleeves and execute in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
Requirements
- Proven track record leading product at scale (Director/Head/VP) in top-tier payments or fintech companies (e.g., Stripe, Square, Adyen, PayPal)
- Deep domain expertise in payments (acquiring and issuing required); strong grasp of the full ecosystem including onboarding/KYC/AML, billing/settlements, fraud/risk, and remittances
- Execution-focused operator who thrives in complexity and brings clarity to fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Credible leader with “been there, done that” experience, able to command respect and inspire senior PMs and engineers
- Experience scaling API-based platforms or embeddable services; hardware/payments device experience is a plus
- International payments and FBO bank/processor integration experience is a plus
- Startup or venture-backed DNA with an entrepreneurial mindset, ambitious, comfortable with resource constraints
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
