About the role
- Building and maintaining our Kubernetes clusters, (not just creating tools and also deploying apps with Helm), but the emphasis is on being able to do this in a code-first way: infrastructure as code.
- Work closely with other teams to identify pain points and problems around the platform.
- Develop new tools and frameworks to improve data platforms.
- Manage CI/CD. Design, develop, and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues using tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Participate in code reviews and help teammates with constructive feedback.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with containerization technology (Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in provisioning infrastructure and managing configurations with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of Data lake services on AWS (Glue, Athena).
- Linux experience: troubleshooting, Bash/Python/Perl scripting, familiarity with multiple distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL).
- Experience developing automation for CI/CD pipelines, especially Jenkins.
- Good to have Kafka knowledge.
- Desire to learn and participate in coaching junior members of the team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Outstanding attention to details.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A customer-centric, empathetic mindset with excellent listening skills.
