perform both routine and non-routine/complex monthly close responsibilities
analyze books and records on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness

liaise with external audit firm on both routine and non routine matters
participate in and guide the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls
assist in designing new processes and enhance existing ones; implement scalable processes to support the Paxos’ growth, and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

a minimum of 3 years of combined experience in public accounting (audit) and private/in-house accounting
experience in start-ups and/or financial services
bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA license and strong knowledge of GAAP
experience overseeing and managing accounting staff
proficiency with NetSuite ERP or other cloud-based accounting software
strong drive to continuously improve the accounting operations, controls and financial reporting processes, including leveraging systems and technologies to improve workflows and scalability
excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
