About the role

  • Paxos: mission to open the world’s financial system by enabling instant movement of any asset, any time, using blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for major financial institutions.
  • Blockchain team: builds secure, scalable, and reliable blockchain solutions and infrastructure.
  • Role: Senior Engineer responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining Paxos’ blockchain infrastructure and applications; collaborate across functions and shape technical direction.
  • Responsibilities include delivering secure and scalable solutions, deploying and maintaining production code on cloud platforms, troubleshooting production issues, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with substantial expertise in blockchain technologies.
  • Proven hands-on experience with deploying and maintaining code in production environments, including cloud platforms and services.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset; comfortable working with stakeholders from multiple disciplines.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively and delivering high-value results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for learning and making meaningful contributions in the areas of blockchain protocols, cryptographic principles, consensus algorithms, and decentralized applications (dApps).
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Golang or Java preferred; Kotlin, Rust, Python, or C++ also valued).
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-native services using tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and AWS.
  • Experience working on high-throughput, low-latency systems or trading infrastructure is a strong plus.
