About the role
- Build scalable backend services and APIs for autonomous AI agent systems
- Integrate and deploy AI models and machine learning frameworks in production
- Design agent orchestration systems that coordinate multiple specialized agents
- Write high-quality code with comprehensive testing, code reviews, and system optimization
- Collaborate with ML/AI engineers to deploy and optimize agent capabilities
- Work closely with product and design teams to build intuitive user experiences for complex AI
- Build reusable libraries and frameworks to enhance team productivity
- Evaluate emerging technologies and help make architectural decisions
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to our learning culture
Requirements
- B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
- Embrace AI tools where they add genuine value, from coding assistance to automated testing
- Async-First Communication: Thoughtful documentation (Slack, Notion, Loom), with focused in-person collaboration 2-3 days per week in our Denver office
- Rapid prototyping with early validation; comfortable failing fast and iterating
- Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward experimentation and learning
- Great collaboration and communication across engineering, product, and design teams
- Commitment to code quality, documentation, and building systems that actually work
- Enthusiasm for AI advancements and modern development practices
- Comfortable in fast-moving environments, balancing shipping quickly with building sustainable systems
- Understanding of AI/ML workflows, LLMs, and autonomous agent architectures preferred
- Mentoring experience and ability to mentor other engineers
