About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Shopify-powered, headless global storefronts across site merchandising, catalog, promotions, CRO, localization, and wholesale support
- Partner with engineering on the headless commerce roadmap and prioritize the backlog
- Direct Meta and Google paid media strategy and agencies in a restricted-category environment
- Own organic discovery through SEO/SEM, listings, and site visibility
- Manage the attribution and measurement stack, including Triple Whale, GA4, and Shopify, and optimize ROAS/ROI decisions
- Drive Klaviyo email performance, segmentation, personalization, and lifecycle strategies
- Build loyalty, rewards, referral, affiliate, creator-commerce, marketplace, and retail-to-DTC programs
- Own e-commerce compliance execution for age verification, shipping, payment processing, and state/country regulations
- Build demand forecasts with supply chain and finance and manage the DTC P&L against board-level targets
- Report performance and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the board
- Lead, coach, and develop the internal team and agency, vendor, and platform partnerships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Full accountability for a DTC P&L
- 5+ years leading e-commerce, digital merchandising, or lifecycle and loyalty functions end-to-end in performance-driven consumer organizations
- Expert-level Shopify knowledge
- Experience with headless architectures such as Builder.io, Hydrogen, or API-driven storefronts
- Experience operating multi-store, multi-currency, multi-region commerce
- Hands-on fluency with modern attribution and analytics stacks, including Triple Whale or similar, GA4, and cohort analysis
- Day-one comfort with Shopify, Builder.io, Klaviyo, and Asana/Jira
- Experience operating Amazon, including Seller/Vendor Central, listing optimization, and marketplace advertising
- Experience building or scaling affiliate and creator-commerce programs, such as Impact.com or similar networks
- Meaningful experience in age-gated categories such as cannabis, CBD, hemp, alcohol, or nicotine
- Familiarity with advertising restrictions, age verification, and shipping compliance
- Experience running or meaningfully contributing to e-commerce across multiple countries, including localization, VAT/duties, regional fulfillment, and market-specific compliance
- Ability to exercise judgment in fast-paced environments without perfect information
- Experience managing lean teams and agencies
- Ability to translate performance data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and the board
