About the role
- Partners with hiring managers and administration to identify personnel needs and then develop detailed and compliant job descriptions for appropriate job positions
- Organize and coordinate recruiting process (creates job postings, manage on-line postings/ATS, schedule interviews, administer assessments, extend offers, prepare new hire paperwork)
- Organize and implements the onboarding process for new hires (conduct new hire orientation, present and explain benefit offerings, and provide employees with a welcoming and inclusive experience)
- Assess potential candidates for fit within position (skills, education, competency, culture alignment)
- Modifies and creates job descriptions as needed
- Provides employee relations support for employees and managers, including resolving issues
- Knowledge of Benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision/ Vol. Life/STD/LTD/FSA)
- Assists in 401k and medical benefits enrollment administration
- Assists HR department during open enrollment
- Assists with leaves of absence
- Provides HR reports as needed
- Participates in continuous HR improvement initiatives and metrics
- Maintains confidentiality and accurate HR files
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist/Recruiter
- Understanding of general human resource policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of recruiting and onboarding
- Knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Attention to detail and analytically driven
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, high-quality document, and report preparation
- Well organized to meet heavy workloads and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Experience with various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS)
- Demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning
- Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other Federal and State laws covering discrimination and Equal Opportunity Employment (EEO)
- Proven ability to successfully work as a team member and to build and maintain a positive work environment across the network
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities
- 5 - 7 years of experience in a Generalist HR role
- 3+ years of experience in Recruiting/Onboarding
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience with assessing talent
- Prior construction experience preferred
- Must have good business written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Strong customer service skills.
