Collaborate with team members and stakeholders in the conceptualization and development of database and/or application functionality.
Assist in the research, definition, development, and documentation of deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with team members.
Monitor, investigate and implement improvements to database design and performance.
Integrate efficiency and performance during all development activities.
Test new and existing applications for the purpose of correcting errors and general debugging.
Participate in defining application and database development plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
Deploy database changes through environments to production upon completion of development, testing, and documentation.
Define and employ best practices for data engineering.
Mentor/coach and conduct code reviews based on defined best practices.
Provide data and software support for bugs, issues, and escalated incident tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues.
Partner with others in resolving problems with software products or company data systems.
Recommend new technologies, approaches, and best practices.
Define and enforce best practices for data engineering and software development.

Requirements

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience
6+ years of application development or data science experience with increasingly complex projects.
Comprehensive understanding of data, development and product life cycles
Comprehensive understanding of data engineering and industry best practices
Experience with data modeling, ETL frameworks, and distributed systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to conduct research into data and database-related issues and products
Ability to conduct research into data-related issues for software products and systems
