About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute bi-weekly multistate payroll for 140+ employees using Rippling
Maintain employee records, including new hire setups, terminations, salary adjustments, and tax elections
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
Ensure all payroll activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations
Oversee the integration of benefits, 401(k) contributions, and other deductions within the payroll system
Generate payroll reports for the finance team and assist with year-end processing (W-2s, etc.)
Act as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding paystubs, taxes, or timesheets
Maintain state payroll tax accounts, including filings, payments, and agency correspondence, ensuring compliance across all applicable jurisdictions
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, and benefits
Support year-end payroll activities (e.g., W-2 preparation)
Review and verify timesheets; resolve discrepancies with managers as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of multistate payroll experience preferred
Experience with Rippling highly preferred
Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Excel or similar tools
