About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaptation process
  • Design, plan, manage, maintain, support, and perform other technology duties for the organization’s cloud computing environment
  • Monitor cloud resource consumption, request fulfillment turnaround, application performance, and systems security posture
  • Evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software as needed
  • Design technical solutions on AWS public cloud environments
  • Create functional design specifications, reference architectures, and other technical specifications
  • Work cross-functionally to analyze cloud service provider SLA, KRI, and KPI metrics
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to enable applications to run on the applicable cloud platform
  • Work with IT Security to monitor the company’s cloud privacy
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for production-critical AWS events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience
  • Typically 3+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with AWS
  • Working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch
  • Strong understanding of AWS security best practices and experience implementing IAM and network security measures
  • Experience with AWS network infrastructure, including VPCs, security groups, and NACLs
  • Familiarity with routing, VPNs, and Direct Connect
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools including AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail
  • Familiarity with third-party monitoring solutions
  • Knowledge of AWS high availability and disaster recovery services and best practices
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar technologies
  • Ability to identify technology, process, and procedure changes that improve effectiveness and performance
  • Ability to stay focused, motivated, organized, and effective in a remote work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Commitment to staying current with AWS services and industry best practices
