About the role

  • Leads and defines DevOps strategies and oversee all DevOps processes including, but not limited to, system migration efforts, streamlining efforts, and user acceptance testing.
  • Fosters accountability, autonomy, and empowerment within the teams and manage the appropriate boundaries to achieve the result of having self-directed work teams.
  • Oversees regression, load, and security testing for developed software and the software licensing process.
  • Defines a cloud migration strategy for moving on prem DevOps solutions.
  • Defines automation of Development and UAT environments.
  • Works with development teams to improve efficiency in the software deployment process.
  • Ensures team owns the quality of the products produced and maintain a balanced mindset across the disciplines involved in the delivery of the products.
  • Regularly reviews team performance, collaborates with members on improvement initiatives/experiments and understands the data, team, and workflow.
  • Improves automation through the CI/CD pipeline through analysis of the current process using tools such as NDepend, NUnit, TeamCity, Octopus, and cloud tools.
  • Supports Docker or similar deployment tools.
  • Oversees and improves practices and procedures including, but not limited to, backout processes to reduce cost, SDLC-related processes, Git process models, and deployment frequency while minimizing business impact.
  • Establishes best practices and ensures team alignment through audit and review of work.
  • Oversees the creation of documentation and training for supported tools.
  • Provides budget forecasts for the DevOps department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Typically, 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate team objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the business strategy.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
