About the role

  • Leads efforts to grow existing partnerships by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across active clients
  • Shapes proposals and renewals into compelling, insight-driven stories that align agency expertise with client goals
  • Oversees and leads Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and annual planning sessions, translating data and insights into action
  • Measures client satisfaction and drives a proactive approach to retention, renewal, and expansion
  • Maintains awareness of account profitability and supports healthy margins through thoughtful scoping and resource planning
  • Ensures new clients are set up for success from day one through structured immersion sessions and onboarding processes
  • Partners with department leads to define success metrics and align collaboration expectations early
  • Builds and maintains account plans that connect client goals to agency strategy
  • Identifies new service opportunities (digital, data, influencer, sustainability, or AI-driven insights)
  • Collaborates with department heads to align agency innovations and client growth initiatives
  • Builds strong, multi-level relationships across client organizations—from day-to-day contacts to C-suite leaders
  • Mentors and develops the Client Engagement team, setting clear expectations and accountability to performance standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 8+ years in a marketing or agency environment managing multimillion-dollar client relationships
  • Proven success leading executive-level client conversations, renewals, and growth initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, lead, and develop high-performing teams
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to “read the room”
  • Skilled in negotiation, proposal shaping, and storytelling
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel marketing (digital, media, creative, print)
  • Financial literacy—comfortable discussing margins, scope, and profitability
  • Excellent collaborator across departments and leadership levels
  • Strong follow-through and accountability; delivers on commitments
  • Adaptable and resilient under pressure; maintains professionalism in challenging situations
