About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement Patagonia’s labor relations strategy
- Advise Legal, People, Culture & Justice, Employee Relations, and business leaders on labor relations matters
- Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to identify and address employee concerns
- Lead and support collective bargaining negotiations and related discussions
- Develop bargaining strategies, proposals, and operational recommendations
- Serve as a primary contact for union representatives
- Provide guidance on collective bargaining agreement interpretation and administration
- Implement negotiated agreements and address day-to-day labor relations issues
- Conduct investigatory meetings in compliance with Weingarten rights and collective bargaining agreements
- Manage grievance processes and negotiate grievance resolutions
- Support arbitration preparation and strategy
- Conduct fact gathering, issue assessments, and recommendations for labor disputes
- Develop and administer labor relations training, tools, resources, and playbooks
- Support leader readiness through coaching and practical guidance
- Support labor-related strategic initiatives and special projects for the Deputy General Counsel – People and Senior Counsel – People
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5–7 years of labor relations, labor law, employee relations, industrial relations, or related experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting collective bargaining negotiations
- Experience administering collective bargaining agreements and collaborating with represented workforces
- Experience advising senior leaders on labor relations strategy and risk management
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence across multiple stakeholder groups
- Ability to analyze complex labor and business issues and exercise sound judgment
- Excellent communication skills with concise, audience-appropriate advice
- Ability to identify and implement technological solutions to create efficiencies and scale workflows
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities
- Commitment to equity and justice and ability to foster an inclusive organizational climate
