About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide input into revenue targets and strategies to support the Partnership, primarily for programs and initiatives in California.
  • Use various donor research and relationship building methods to Identify and cultivate a portfolio of prospects for the Partnership’s CA-based and national programming.
  • Work with other Development team members to steward CA-based donors and design and execute cultivation events to raise the Partnership’s profile in the region.
  • Draft concept papers, grant proposals and grant reports, as required.
  • Maintain contact and prospect information in Salesforce and ensure meeting notes and other information are appropriately captured in the system.
  • Work directly with other members of the Development team and adhere to standard procedures to ensure strong communication, collaboration and recordkeeping.
  • Seek out training opportunities that support professional growth and align with an annual performance management plan.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum seven years of fundraising or relevant work experience, with progressive responsibility
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully securing major gifts from high-net-worth individuals and significant foundation grants
  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent professional work or military experience
  • Familiarity with and commitment to using donor relationship management systems; knowledge of Salesforce is preferred.
