About the role

  • Ensure customer compliance with contractual obligations to Cincom Systems by conducting software licensing audits.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of customer systems, evaluate licensing models, and identify discrepancies in software usage and claims.
  • Investigate customer usage using publicly available data (financial reports, press reports, LinkedIn, workforce data, conference talks) to determine audit candidates and support sales negotiations.
  • Analyze technical infrastructure and application architectures (VMWare, AWS, Citrix, client-server) to assess licensing compliance.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering and IT to ensure consistency and accuracy in customer licensing.
  • Provide clear, actionable reports outlining audit findings, recommendations, and corrective licensing actions; explain findings to senior management and customers as needed.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, industry trends, and licensing models; assist in developing audit processes and documentation.

Requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical expertise in either programming (codebase analysis, system configurations) or systems infrastructure technologies (VMWare, AWS, device management systems); some knowledge of the other area required; DevOps experience is beneficial.
  • Experience in Software Licensing Audits: Previous experience in software license auditing or compliance within a technical environment.
  • Understanding of Licensing Models: Knowledge of various software licensing models (e.g., perpetual, subscription-based, concurrent usage) and their application.
  • Problem-Solving and Research Skills: Ability to investigate complex technical issues and synthesize findings into actionable conclusions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing systems and data to ensure accuracy and compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to obtain required access/information from auditees and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
