Key responsibilities & impact

Write and ship clear, simple code that makes educators’ lives easier and improves student outcomes.
Partner with product owners, design, and senior engineering teammates to ensure we build features as cleanly and simply as possible.
Actively utilize and champion AI development practices within your daily workflow, helping your peers find ways to increase sprint velocity and code quality.
Build and maintain features that operate robustly at scale while adhering to the highest level of security for the schools that rely on us.
Contribute to a unified technical direction and a team culture focused on excellence, continuous learning, and speed.
Actively participate in PR reviews and help implement the future architecture of our systems, including supporting the evolution of our monolithic systems.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Professional experience working on services utilizing Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP
Solid experience building application services with MySQL or PostgreSQL , including a strong understanding of relational databases beyond just standard ORM usage.
Experience working within distributed systems and an understanding of how to work with and evolve monolithic architectures.
Experience deploying, monitoring, and operating services on cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (Aurora, RDS, SQS) .
Proficiency with building and consuming RESTful APIs .
Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
