About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own performance management, coaching, and career growth for a diverse team of engineers.
Act as an active member of your team, performing development or technical tasks, reviewing code, and contributing directly to the ecosystem.
Strong familiarity with or passion for agentic coding practices.
Build and lead your team to execute each sprint effectively, streamlining processes to ensure the right prioritization, urgency, and delivery.
Partner closely with the SVP of Engineering, Product Management, and peer engineering leaders to align your team’s milestones with company goals.
Establish and track KPIs for your team to measure performance, code quality, and execution.
Ensure security processes, protocols, and technical best practices are kept up to date and on track within your team's domain.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in direct people and team management, with a proven track record of mentoring junior developers and managing stakeholders.
5+ years of hands-on experience in either backend software development (Ruby on Rails preferred) or cloud systems/infrastructure engineering.
Extensive experience in at least one of the following areas: Developing, deploying, and integrating large-scale, high-traffic web applications.
Deep familiarity with design patterns, code reviews, unit testing, and agile or lean software development frameworks.
Proficiency with version control using Git.
