About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Shoot and edit news stories for KPIX TV
Apply contemporary lighting techniques and professional ENG audio equipment
Participate as a full member of the Agile team in regular meetings and planning
Work independently and collaboratively on assigned tasks and projects
Monitor on-demand and live-streaming assets
Prioritize issues on the video operations team
Generate content across all CBS platforms using available equipment
Maintain workflows and dashboard functionality through documentation
Monitor and perform basic vehicle maintenance
Support a 24x7 operation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary lighting techniques
Proficiency with professional audio equipment commonly used in ENG work
Acquainted with Frontline vans and ENG vans
Solid grasp of local and wide area computer networks and their components
Ability to resolve network issues quickly
Availability to support a 24x7 operation
Ability to monitor and perform basic vehicle maintenance
Flexible work schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to edit a 2-minute news package in 30 minutes or less
Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills
B.A. degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred
Three to five years of Photography/Editing experience in a major market is required
At least 5 years in Live TV or a Live Streaming role, with an emphasis on live sporting events
Knowledge of nonlinear editing techniques
Knowledge of cloud-based Media Asset Management systems
Knowledge of audio mixing
General knowledge of legacy formats and animated graphics
Satellite uplink truck experience is a plus
Must maintain a valid driver's license in good standing
Ability to lift 35 pounds of computer equipment, carry, and set up
Ability to work overnight and day shifts
Ability to work in varied environmental conditions
Ability to multitask under pressure and operate autonomously
