About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and navigate all audio components of Entertainment TV programming
  • Work with Audio Assists (A2s) on the floor and other audio mixers to check microphones, PA systems, and monitors daily
  • Prepare audio systems for show rehearsals and tapings
  • Perform quality control of incoming footage and media for shows
  • Relay media and footage issues promptly
  • Work with production and technical teams to resolve issues for live-to-air tapings
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering on technical documentation, workflow diagrams, testing, and system integration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years' experience in a broadcast audio environment
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and expertly navigate all audio components of Entertainment TV programming
  • Calrec Console experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of broadcast audio equipment and high-level audio concepts, including consoles, lavalier, handheld and boom microphones, audio routing, AES, MADI, and analog workflows
  • Proven experience operating and programming RTS ADAM/ODIN communications systems in live production environments, including AZ Edit configuration and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of IP-based intercom and audio infrastructure, including RVON, trucking, and networked communications workflows
  • Understanding of Calrec Console and its complexities in live production environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced production environment while maintaining high-quality work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate across operational, management, and technology layers
  • Experience with audio standards and related infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate with maintenance and engineering to maintain updated technical documentation and workflow diagrams
  • Ability to work with engineers to test and integrate new systems
  • Current IBEW union membership or willingness to join
