About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support business affairs activities across Paramount's theatrical motion picture development and production slate
- Structure, negotiate, and administer agreements involving actors, writers, producers, directors, production companies, and other above-the-line talent
- Assist in negotiating rights acquisitions, option agreements, shopping agreements, and other development-related transactions
- Prepare deal analyses and advise on talent compensation, contingent compensation, participation structures, credits, and approvals
- Work closely with the EVP, Business Affairs and other senior business affairs executives on complex negotiations and strategic transactions
- Collaborate with Creative, Production, Legal Affairs, Finance, Labor Relations, and other departments to facilitate project development and production
- Review and interpret guild agreements and industry standards, including SAG-AFTRA, WGA, and DGA requirements
- Manage multiple projects and negotiations simultaneously while ensuring timely execution of agreements and business objectives
- Maintain strong relationships with agents, managers, attorneys, producers, and other industry representatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7–12 years of Business and Legal Affairs experience at a major motion picture studio, television studio, production company, entertainment law firm, or comparable entertainment organization
- J.D. required
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting talent and rights agreements for film, television, or other entertainment content
- Strong understanding of entertainment industry deal structures, talent compensation, contingent compensation, and guild requirements
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
