About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide strategic legal counsel and services to support Paramount Global Publishing’s mission
Serve as a strategic legal business partner to the Paramount Publishing team
Negotiate, draft, and review a broad range of publishing agreements
Advise on intellectual property matters related to publishing
Initiate and support complex rights negotiations
Support publishing initiatives inspired by Paramount’s iconic brands
Provide legal guidance on royalty structures and profit participation
Collaborate closely with teams across the organization
Identify and manage legal risks associated with publishing
Oversee and coordinate with outside counsel as needed
Support the development and maintenance of legal templates and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of legal experience
J.D. from an accredited law school
admission to practice law in New York or California
in-depth knowledge of publishing, media, entertainment, or consumer products businesses
strong familiarity with publishing industry agreements and customs
substantial experience negotiating intellectual property-driven commercial agreements
working knowledge of guild and labor issues
